Lazada Malaysia Now Accepts American Express Cards
Author Avatar

Lazada Malaysia has begun accepting American Express cards as a method of payment on its e-commerce platform. You can now use your American Express cards to pay for your Lazada purchases as well as top up your Lazada e-wallet and pay bills.

While Lazada has not yet added the American Express logo to its official list of payment methods displayed on the home page, you will notice that the icon appears on the checkout page under credit or debit cards. A member of our team was able to successfully able to top up their Lazada wallet, save their card for payment transactions, and pay their bills on Lazada using an American Express credit card.

This is certainly good news for American Express cardholders in Malaysia as they can now reap the benefits of their Amex credit cards while carrying out their transactions on Lazada. These benefits include the 5% weekend cashback feature offered by the Maybank 2 Amex and 5x TreatsPoints offered by both the Maybank 2 Amex and Maybank 2 Premier Amex Reserve. However, it is unlikely that these benefits will extend to top-ups of the Lazada Wallet, as Maybank does not offer credit card rewards for any e-wallet reloads.

With this latest update, Amex cards are now accepted on two of Malaysia’s biggest e-commerce platforms in Malaysia; Shopee embraced Amex as a payment method late last year for all its features except for bill payment.
