From today until 31 January 2021, Luno will be partnering once again with Shopee to provide its customers with some special deals. During this year-end promotion by the cryptocurrency exchange, you’ll be able to purchase vouchers from as low as RM0.50, and redeem them via the Luno mobile app or website to get Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, or Litecoin. This is in addition to a chance to win Bitcoins worth up to RM500 per person.

Aside from these deals, Luno said that customers who purchase the vouchers and redeem them within the promotion period will also stand a chance to win up to RM500 worth of Bitcoins per person.
According to the country manager of Luno Malaysia, Aaron Tang, this latest partnership is the third time Luno has collaborated with Shopee. “This year alone, we’ve seen a huge rise in cryptocurrency investors in Malaysia. In terms of our user base, we have more than 180,000 users who trade and invest in our platform. Being a regulated exchange allows us to explore new ways of expanding access to cryptocurrencies for users in Malaysia. An innovative approach is to leverage the breadth and depth of the leading e-commerce player like Shopee,” he said.
Luno – which is the first Securities Commission (SC)-approved digital asset exchange in Malaysia – has been operating in Malaysia since 2015. However, it went on a temporary break in early 2019 until it obtained its licence from the SC in October 2019. Following its subsequent relaunch, Luno reported that it has processed over RM827 million worth of transactions within Malaysia.
