Citibank Rewards Platinum Visa Card review

What's so good (or not so good) about it?

It is great to earn reward points from shopping with your credit card but it would be fantastic if you could be rewarded for spending on what you love most. Citibank Rewards Platinum Card offers just that and much more.

Choose Your Rewards

With Citibank Rewards Platinum Card, cardholders can choose to earn reward points from five categories – shopping, driving, home, travel and entertainment. For every RM1 charged to Citibank Rewards Platinum Card at participating merchants in each category, cardholders will receive 5 evergreen Rewards Points.

These reward points can be used to exchange for Instant Rewards at Citibank’s participating merchants, offset purchases you have made or redeem gifts, air tickets or cash vouchers via the Citibank Rewards Catalogue.

A monthly cap of RM1,000 is applicable to all categories except Travel, where a yearly cap of RM12,000 applies. Any spending beyond these caps will have a 1X points earning except for the Driving category. No points are earned after the monthly cap of RM1,000 is exceeded.

The subscription period for a Rewards category starts from the date you add the category and ends on your card anniversary date.

Annual Fee

The annual fee for Citibank Rewards Platinum Card is calculated based on the number of spending categories selected. Each category has an annual subscription fee of RM106. For every RM15,000 charged on your principal card in a year, the subscription fee for one category will be waived for the following year.

For starters, cardholders are required to choose a minimum of two categories and can enjoy two categories for free in the first year. New cardholders who spend RM2000 within 60 days from the card approval date will also receive 20,000 Rewards Points.

Rewards You Love

With the flexibility to choose and change the categories you want to be rewarded on based on your lifestyle, Citibank Rewards Platinum Card is definitely a winner in terms of giving cardholders what they need whenever they need it.
